A parliamentary hearing for the proposed justices of the Supreme Court, Nripadhwaj Niraula, Nityananda Pandey and proposed ambassador to Belgium, Sewa Lamsal, is set for Wednesday (October 30).
A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) held in Singha Durbar on Monday morning decided to assess the suitability of Niraula, Pandey for the position of Supreme Court justices and Lamsal for the post of ambassador.
The meeting also decided to review complaints lodged against the proposed nominees and conduct their hearing on Wednesday, said Pashupati Shamsher Rana, a senior member of the PHC.
"The complaints lodged against the two proposed justices of the Supreme Court and one ambassador will be reviewed and their hearing will be conducted on the same day, October 30 as per the Section 15 of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee Procedure, 2080," he said.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal has been proposed as an ambassador to Belgium.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday at 8 am on October 30.
