Chinese apples into Nepal as Tatopani checkpoint resumes

With the opening of the Tatopani border point, Chinese apples have started entering into Nepal.

The Tatopani Customs Office has informed that the road which was blocked due to the September 27 flood was has opened and the fruits targeting Tihar festival were brought in.

According to the customs office, since Sunday, two cargo trucks full of fruits and another one filled with garments have cleared customs.

Chief Customs Officer Kamal Kumar Bhattarai said, "For the last three days, the vehicles carrying fruits and some garments have entered Nepal."

With the opening of the checkpoint, around a dozen vehicles laden with fruits and garments have entered Nepal and around 50 vehicles are awaiting customs clearance.
