Nepali workers working abroad without obtaining a labor permit will now be able to get legal status by obtaining a labor permit.

Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari said that the Ministry has decided to issue them labor permits considering September 2024 as the cut-off date.

For the new labor permit, the workers have to register their biometrics and hence there might be some labor as some diplomatic missions do not have such facility.

Minister Bhandari said the diplomatic missions in the respective countries as well as Nepali organizations shall be mobilized to bring the workers to the process of labor permit.
