Bijay Baral-starrer "Purna Bahadurko Sarangi", a Nepali cine film, has set a new record as the highest-grossing Nepali film in the history of Nepali cinema.
With a gross collection of more than Rs 270 million, this film has set the record for the highest grossing Nepali film. The film raked in Rs 270 million in just 15 days, according to the film's team.
Prior to this film, 'Kabaddi 4' directed by Rambabu Gurung had topped the list of highest grossing Nepali cine films with Rs 250 million, the production team said.
Similarly, one week ago, Govinda Shahi, the distributor of the film, claimed that the cine film '12 Gaun' earned Rs 255 million in the span of four weeks. 'Purna Bahadurko Sarangi' has broken both the records set by 'Kabaddi' and '12 Gaun'.
This film, based on the story of Gandharva Community, features artists including Buddhi Tamang, Prakash Saput, Anjana Baraili, Deshbhakta Khanal, Alisha Baskota, Mukun Bhusal, Bhola Raj Sapkota, apart from Baral.
The film is directed by Saroj Paudel and jointly produced by Binod Paudel and Pyatrik Subedi. Similarly, the film's script and the dialogues were written by Mahesh Dawadi.
Presented under the banner of Seven Seas, 'Purna Bahadurko Sarangi' was made with a budget of Rs 13 million.
