Local level by-election: Candidacy filing from 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow

Nominations for the candidates vying in the upcoming by-election can be registered from 10 am to 5 pm next day, according to the Election Commission.

The by-election is slated on December 1 for 44 vacant seats across the country.

Joint-Secretary and Spokesperson Nita Pokharel told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the nomination registration would take place in the election officer's office in the concerned local levels.

The lists of the candidates will be published on the same day from 5 pm to 6 pm, said Spokesperson Pokharel.

Preparation for the registration of candidacies has been completed, the Commission said, adding that 32 offices were set for chief election officers while six offices others in the related local levels for election officers.

Following the nomination process, complaints against candidates, if any, could be filed between 10 am to 3 pm on November 18. The Election Commission will review and decide on the complaints to finalize the candidate list by 5 pm to 6 pm the next day.

Likewise, candidates willing to withdraw their candidacies can do it between 9 am to 1 pm on November 20 while the final list of candidates will be published between 1pm to 3 pm the same day.

Election symbols will be conferred on the candidates between 3 pm to 5 pm on November 20 itself while the by-election will be held from 7 am to 5 pm on December 1.
