Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishnaman Dangol has registered his candidacy for the post of mayor in Kirtipur Municipality.
Dangol filed his nomination in the presence of Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma in the election office on Sunday afternoon.
Dangol is also the Kirtipur Municipal Committee president of Nepali Congress.
The post of mayor in Kirtipur Municipality has been lying vacant after mayor Rajkumar Nakarmi passed away.
Candidates from various political parties are filing their nominations today for 44 different positions including two chiefs of district coordination committees, one mayor, one deputy mayor, two chairpersons of rural municipalities and four vice chairpersons in the upcoming by-election.
