A bilateral meeting between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to be held on December 3.
Prime Minister Oli who will embark on a visit to China on December 2. He will start holding meetings with the top Chinese officials the day after he reaches China.
According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oli will fly to China on December 2, stay for four days in Beijing and return home on December 5.
Even though the Chinese side, earlier, proposed December 2-6 as the date for Prime Minister Oli's visit, the visit was rescheduled for December 2-5 following deliberations from both the sides.
"The day after Prime Minister Oli reaches Beijing, he will hold meetings with top Chinese officials including Chinese President Xi Jinping on December 3," a source at the Foreign Ministry said, "The Prime Minister is scheduled to address programs to be organized separately by the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) and Peking University."
Even though Prime Minister Oli's China visit has already heated up, the government has not officially made public the visit. It will probably be made public by both Katmandu and Beijing simultaneously on November 29.
A preparation has it that Prime Minister Oli will fly to Beijing on a chartered flight of Himalaya Airlines and return to Kathmandu by the same plane.
Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba will fly to China tomorrow (Thursday) in preparation for Prime Minister Oli's visit.
