Maoist Center's Devaka Lamichhane wins Deputy Mayor in Nalgad

CPN (Maoist Center) has won the election of the deputy mayor in Nalgad Municipality of Jajarkot district.

Maoist Center's Devaka Lamichhane has been elected with 4,272 votes.

Lamichhane defeated her closest rival Indra Singh (Chand) of Nepali Congress with the margin of 1,125 votes, the Election Commission said. Indra secured 3,147 votes.

The post was lying vacant after former Deputy Mayor Sarita Singh died in the earthquake in 2080.

Singh of Nepali Congress had been elected as the Deputy Mayor in the local election held in 2079 BS.
