Kathmandu Gurkhas has defeated Karnali Yaks by 3 wickets in the sixth match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.
Kathmandu reached the 150-run target losing 7 wickets in 19.3 overs.
To secure victory for Kathmandu, Sumit Maharjan made the highest 40 runs followed by Gerhard Erasmus with 38 runs while captain Karan KC and Michael Levitt contributed 28 and 22 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Gulsan Jha, Zeeshan Maqsood, Bipin Sharma took 1 wicket each for Karnali.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Karnali notched up 149 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan topped the score with 72 runs including 4 fours and 5 sixes off 51 balls. Similarly, Chadwick Walton made 21 runs followed by Zeeshan Maqsood, Babar Hayat and Gulsan Jha with 14, 13 and 12 runs, respectively.
In reply, Gerhard Erasmus grabbed 2 wickets while Karan KC, Nathan Sowter and Dipesh Kandel claimed 1 wicket each for Kathmandu.
