Janakpur Bolts has registered a 7-wicket win against Pokhara Avengers in the 8th match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Janakpur clinched the win against Pokhara by reaching the target of 139 runs in 17. 1 overs losing 3 wickets.
This is Janakpur's third consecutive win in the NPL.
Earlier, Janakpur had defeated Karnali Yaks by 8 wickets in the second match. It had made a flying start by clinching an 8-wicket victory over Biratnagar in the opening match.
Lahiru Milantha topped the score with 45 runs followed by James Neesham with 40 runs while Aasif Sheikh contributed 33 runs. The other batsmen could achieve significant runs.
On the bowling side, Bipin Khatri, Michael Leask and Kushal Bhurtel grabbed 1 wicket each for Pokhara.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Pokhara Avengers notched up 138 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Marcus Critchley scored 35 runs followed by Michael Leask with 25 runs while Andries Gous, Raymon Reifer and Dilip Nath contributed 20, 17 and 11 runs, respectively.
In reply, Lalitpur Rajbanshi took the highest 3 wickets followed by James Neesham with 2 wickets while Kishore Mahato and Mohammad Mohsin claimed 1 wicket each.
Kathmandu Gurkhas and Sudurpaschim Royals are facing each other in the second match of the day today. The match will start at 1 pm.
Kathmandu lost to Chitwan Rhinos by 5 wickets in the first match. In the second match, it defeated Karnali Yaks by 3 wickets on Wednesday.
Sudurpaschim had made a flying start in the NPL by defeating Biratnagar Kings by 90 runs in the first match.
