With Gous' unbeaten 104-run score, Pokhara secures 10-wicket win against Lumbini

With Andries Gous' 104-run score, Pokhara Avengers managed to register a 10-wicket record win over Lumbini Lions in the 11th match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.

Pokhara registered a record win against the opponent and remained not out while it was chasing the 171-run target set by Lumbini. Andries Gous and Dinesh Kharel set the tone for a record win over Lumbini with a 170-run opening partnership.

This marks Pokhara's first win in the ongoing NPL. Lumbini is now the only team yet to secure a victory in the tournament.

Gous hit 12 fours and 5 sixes off 55 deliveries during his 104-run unbeaten inning. Similarly, Dinesh Kharel made 61 not out runs including 4 fours and 4 sixes off 46 balls. The openers reached the target in 16.5 overs without losing any wickets.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday, Lumbini notched up 170 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Captain Rohit Paudel topped the score with 95 runs including 10 fours and 4 sixes off 59 balls followed by Tom Moores with 45 runs while Sundeep Jora contributed 18 runs.

In reply, Bipin Khatri took 2 wickets and Matt Critchley grabbed 1 wicket for Pokhabar.
