Janakpur Bolts has registered the fourth consecutive win in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024 by clinching a one-run win against Lumbini Lions.
Janakpur restricted Lumbini to 135/8 runs in the allotted 20 overs while the latter was chasing the 137-run target.
To restrict the opponent, Janakpur's Harsh Thaker took the highest 5 wickets giving away 23 runs while Kishore Mahato, Lalit Rajbanshi and Sher Malla grabbed 1 wicket each.
Captain Rohit Paudel's 35-run score was the highest for Lumbini. He hit 3 fours off 38 balls followed by Tom Moores with 31 runs while Arjun Saud contributed 20 runs. Similarly, Sundeep Jora made 16 runs in the course of chasing the target.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Janakpur notched up 136 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Captain Anil Sah topped the score with 45 runs including 1 four and 4 sixes followed by Lahiru Milantha with 24 runs while Shubh Kansakar contributed 22 runs. Similarly, Aasif Sheikh contributed16 runs.
In reply, Abhishesh Gautam took the highest three wickets followed by Saad Bin Zafar and Rohit Paudel with 2 wickets each while Sundeep Jora claimed 1 wicket for Lumbini.
Lumbini had lost to Biratnagar by 2 wickets in the first match, to Pokhara by 10 wickets in the second match and suffered a 45-run defeat at the hands of Sudurpaschim.
Conversely, Janakpur had defeated Biratnagar by eight wickets in the first match, Karnali Yaks by 5 wickets in the second match and inflicted a 7-wikcet defeat on Pokhara Avengers in the third match.
