Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) has announced the appointment of Gorakh Rana as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Head of Coverage, Nepal. The appointment is effective from January 1, 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.

Rana, a seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience at Standard Chartered, will succeed Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar, who is stepping down after a six-year tenure as CEO. Dastidar will assume a new role within the bank and will also serve as a Special Advisor to the SCBNL Board.

Rana's appointment marks a significant milestone as he becomes the first Nepali national to lead the bank. His extensive experience in both Corporate and Investment Banking and Wealth and Retail Banking segments, coupled with his deep understanding of the Nepali market, positions him well to drive the bank's future growth.

With this leadership change, Standard Chartered Nepal aims to further strengthen its position in the Nepali market and continue delivering value to its customers and stakeholders.
