Kathmandu Gurkhas has defeated Lumbini Lions by 18 runs in the 19th match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.
Lumbini was bowled out for 85 runs while it was chasing the 104-run target set by Kathmandu. With the loss, Lumbini has crashed out of the ongoing NPL. On the other hand, Kathmandu has inched colser to playoffs.
Kathmandu has collected 4 points from four matches. On the other hand, Lumbini has only 2 points from six matches played so far. Even if it wins its next match, it won't qualify for the playoff.

To restrict Lumbini, Karan KC took the highest 4 wickets followed by Dipesh Kandel with 3 wickets while Gerhard Erasmus and Rashid Khan grabbed 2 and 1 wicket each for Kathmandu.
Sundeep Jora's 26-run was the highest for Lumbin. Jora hit 2 fours off 29 balls. Similarly, Unmukt Chand and Surya Tamang contributed 14 and 11 runs, respectively.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday, Kathmandu notched up 103 runs losing all wickets in 19.2 overs.
Bhim Sharki topped the score with 31 runs followed by Dan Douthwaite with 21 runs while Pratik Shrestha and Stephen Eskinazi and contributed 20 and 13 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.
In reply, Saad Bin Zafar took the highest 3 wickets followed by Abhishesh Gautam and Ramon Simmonds with 2 wickets each while Surya Tamang and Bibek Yadav grabbed 1 wicket each for Lumbini.
