In a unique initiative, Ncell Foundation is linking the excitement of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) to classrooms by providing educational 2,612 kits to students from community schools across Nepal.
The Foundation pledged to allocate four educational kits for every four hit during the NPL season. With a total of 653 boundaries scored throughout the tournament, this translates to a significant number of students benefiting from this initiative.
Each kit will include essential school supplies such as bags, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers, aiming to alleviate resource shortages and enhance students' learning experiences.
"This season's NPL has been a milestone in nurturing Nepali cricketing talents," said Bishakha Laxmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell. "We are thrilled to collaborate with NPL, combining the passion for cricket with a cause that provides essential educational resources to students in need. We extend our congratulations to CAN and thank every player from each team for making this initiative possible."
Lahiru Milantha of Janakpur Bolts led the way with the highest contribution, providing 140 kits after hitting 35 boundaries, followed by Andries Gous of Pokhara Avengers and Rohit Kumar Paudel of Lumbini Lions, respectively.
Ncell has partnered with the Karmayog Foundation to ensure the timely and efficient distribution of these materials to the targeted students. This initiative aligns with Ncell's "Here for You" theme and its commitment to supporting the growth of sports in Nepal.
