Huawei to build Nepal Telecom's data center in Kathmandu and Pokhara

Chinese multinational company Huawei has been awarded the contract to build Nepal Telecom's data center.

Huawei got the tender that Nepal Telecom had called for on August 22.

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has been awarded the contract to build and connect the infrastructure of Nepal Telecom's data center. Nepal Telecom has been using small data centers, but now it is building two large data centers, according to the Telecom.

"We are currently using many small data centers," said Dhakal, "Now, large data centers will be built in Kathmandu and Pokhara."

Dhakal further said that an agreement has been signed with Huawei for 5-6 years. Huawei will provide external management support along with infrastructure construction.

Nepal Telecom will pay U$ 767,000 and 378.1 million Nepali rupees.

Huawei is receiving a contract worth NPR 485 million for the construction of the data center, according to the Telecom.
