Two people, who sustained critical injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Sandar MoMo outlet, have succumbed to their burn injuries.

Eleven people had sustained injuries when a gas cylinder went off at Sandar MoMo outlet at Kamal Pokhari in Kathmandu on February 6.

The deceased are Rabin Rai, 18, and Bhim Bahadur Ghale of Hetauda, who were currently staying at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-28.

They were undergoing treatment at Nepal Cleft and Burn Center in Kirtipur Hospital, informed SP Apilraj Bohara, the spokesperson at the District Police Range Office, Kathmandu.

The other nine burn injury victims are undergoing treatment at Kirtipur Hospital.

The gas cylinder had exploded at Sandar MoMo restaurant, apparently due to gas leakage in the kitchen, run by Keshav Shrestha in Kamal Pokhari, the police said.
