The motorcyclist, who went missing after falling into the Trishuli River while traveling from Narayangadh to Kathmandu, has been identified as 27-year-old Rohit Rana of Lamjung district, the Chitwan police said.
The motorcyclist, who collided with a road divider and plunged into the river, was identified based on his wallet found on the riverbank. The documents also revealed that Rana is currently serving in the Indian Army's Gorkha Rifles.
The incident occurred on Friday morning around 11:30 AM near the Chattane Bhir area along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section. Rana, who was traveling from Narayangadh to Kathmandu, lost control of his motorcycle and fell some 150 meters down into the Trishuli River.
The motorcycle, bearing the registration number, Bagmati Province 06–02 PA 9204, a Royal Enfield bike, was found on the road, according to the police. Search and rescue operations for Rana are still ongoing, as confirmed by Chitwan police.
Authorities said they are continuing their efforts to locate the missing motorcyclist and have urged the public to provide any relevant information that could assist in the search.
