Fresh clash breaks out between no cable car group and police in Phungling bazaar

10 including 2 protestors injured

A clash has occurred between police and protesters during a torch rally at Phungling in Taplejung.

The police have stated that the clash took place in Phungling Bazaar as the "No Cable Car" group took out a torch rally this evening.  

Two individuals have been seriously injured in the clash. They have been identified as AK Darnal from Dharan and Kesing Kumar Limbu from Lelep.

Similarly, the District Police Office Taplejung has reported that eight police officers were injured.

A group returning from the Kaflepati area carried out a torch rally in Phungling Bazaar on this evening.

The police said that the situation turned out to be tense after the protesters began a widespread attack.

Following the clash, some police officers have gone missing. The police said they are currently searching for the missing security personnel.
