Nepal and Myanmar are set to face each other in their final group stage match of the ongoing Four Nations International Women's Championship today (Sunday).
The match will take place at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor at 6 PM.
With both Nepal and Myanmar already securing their spots in the final, today's match will serve as a practice session.
Myanmar has clinched the top spot, while Nepal secured the second position, both advancing to the final with a game to spare.
In their previous group stage matches, Nepal defeated Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon with 1-0 each.
Nepal's victories saw goals from different players. Bimala Chaudhary scored against Kyrgyzstan, while Sabitra Bhandari netted the decisive goal against Lebanon.
Myanmar, on the other hand, recorded a 3-1 win over Kyrgyzstan in their first match and a dominant 5-0 win against Lebanon in their second outing.
Head-to-head
This will be the third encounter between Nepal and Myanmar in a women's football tournament. Nepal has not defeated Myanmar so far.
Nepal is eager to secure their first win against Myanmar in their third encounter. However, Myanmar is considered a strong contender for the title in the ongoing championship.
This match marks the first meeting between Nepal and Myanmar in six years, their last encounter being in the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers in 2019.
In that 2019 match, Nepal suffered a 3-1 defeat to Myanmar. Nepal will be looking to avenge that loss in today's match.
Nepal and Myanmar first met in 2018 during the Olympic Qualifiers, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
