As part of preparations of upcoming Maha Shivaratri festival, a procession led by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, was held at the Pashupatinath Temple premises on Monday morning.
The procession, organized by the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), saw the participation of Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Arun Chaudhary, along with personnel from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force. Officials from PADT, students and teachers from Sanskrit Vidyashram, and local residents also joined the procession.
The procession began at the Pashupati main gate, passed through Pinglasthan, Gaushala, Jayabageshwari, and concluded back at the temple's main gate after a complete circuit of the complex.

Following the procession, Minister Pandey inspected the temple grounds and directed PADT to ensure smooth and easy access for devotees visiting Pashupatinath. With a large influx of devotees already present on Monday, the eve of Maha Shivaratri, the Minister emphasized the need for seamless arrangements.
PADT has said it has completed all preparations for Maha Shivaratri, which falls on Wednesday, February 14. Sadhus and saints from Nepal, India, and other countries are arriving, and arrangements for their accommodation and food have been made.
