A woman died and a man sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred on the East-West Highway in Kanchanpur district on Thursday morning.
The incident took place in Bansamiti, ShuklaPhanta Municipality-5, when a truck (Ba 01006 Kha 3537) collided with a motorcycle (Ma 1 Pa 4658) from behind.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Nirmala Bohora, a resident of Bhimdatta Municipality-18. She succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital.
The motorcycle driver, 30-year-old Mahiman Bista, also from Bhimdatta Municipality-18, sustained injuries to his hand.
The District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said they are investigating the case after taking the truck driver into custody.
