A young man has attempted self-immolation in front of the Passport Department at Tripureshwar in Kathmandu on Thursday.
On Thursday afternoon, a young man set himself on fire after dousing himself in petrol. Police rescued the man after he caught fire and took him to Bir Hospital for treatment, said SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
According to SP Bhattarai, the young man is being treated at Bir Hospital. Bhattarai said that his identity is yet to be revealed.
It is not yet clear why the young man tried to commit suicide. Police said that an inquiry is underway into this matter.
