A person has died and 14 others sustained injuries after a van carrying pilgrims met with an accident in Gorkha on Monday morning.
The van was carrying pilgrims home after paying homage to Manakamana Temple in Gorkha.
According to the District Police Office, Gorkha, the van with 15 pilgrims on board met with an accident at Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Kantar at 11:30 am today.
The van, which had arrived at Manakamana carrying 15 pilgrims from Chitwan, had fallen some 15 meters down the road while returning home with the pilgrims, DSP Indra Prasad Subedi.
"The security personnel have reached the incident site and rescued the injured," Subedi said, "They have been taken to Chhimkeshwari Hospital at Anbukhaireni in Tanahun for treatment."
The identities of the deceased and the injured are yet to be revealed, said Subedi. He said they are carrying out further investigation into the case.
