NICCI organizes Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture in tribute to his vision

The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has organized the First Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The event titled ' the Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture: Celebrating Leadership, Vision, and Legacy' was organized as a tribute to the legacy and contribution of late Mr. Prabhakar SJB Rana to the economy and nation, said NICCI President Sunil KC.

“The NICCI organized the event to commemorate Mr. Rana as a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and trailblazer in Nepal’s overall business, hospitality sector, industry and hydropower,” Mr. KC added.

Late Rana, the founder President of NICCI, founded many business and social organizations including Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN), PATA Nepal Chapter, Nepal Heritage Society.

Executive Director at International Monetary Fund (IMF) and former Chief Economic Advisor to the government of India, Dr. Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian, Industry Minister Damodar Bhandari, and Energy Minister Deepak Khadka participated in the First Prabhakar SJB Rana Memorial Lecture.

Mr. Siddhartha SJB Rana, the son of Late Mr. Prabhakar SJB Rana and the Chairman of Tara Management Pvt. Ltd., the parent organization of SIPRADI Trading, membered his father as a visionary leader in the sector of overall business and industry.

The NICCI also launched a Book titled “Business Climate Survey for Indian Companies in Nepal, 2024”, on the occasion.

The NICCI, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1993 by late Mr. Prabhakar SJB Rana. NICCI plays a key role in promoting bilateral economic relations focusing on key sectors such as trade, transit, logistics, tourism, energy, infrastructure, and FDI since its establishment.
