Police in Nepal are investigating the suspicious death of singer and composer Bikram Rai, who died on February 28 in Kathmandu.

Rai's family is demanding an investigation into his death, suspecting the involvement of a woman who was living with him and present when he died. They have also said that they are filing a complaint against her.

After collapsing, the woman took Rai to a hospital, where he was declared dead an hour later. A post-mortem examination was inconclusive, and police are awaiting the results of a viscera test. A CCTV footage from the scene hasn't shown any suspicious activity by the woman so far.

Rai's relatives allege that the woman should be investigated, citing discrepancies such as missing mobile phones and delays in being informed about his condition.

They claim there was an argument between Rai and the woman at the eatery, and footage shows her and two men going in and out of the premises.

The woman, also a singer, stated on social media that she is grieving and trusts the police investigation. She claimed Rai consumed excessive alcohol that night, and they had a minor argument during which he became violent. She also alleged she contacted Rai's sister but received no response.

The investigation is ongoing, with police focusing on the viscera report and the CCTV footage to determine the cause of death.
