A flight of Sichuan Airlines from Chengdu of China has landed at Pokhara International Airport this morning.
Sichuan Airlines is going to operate regular commercial charter flight for the first time from Pokhara Airport to Chengdu from Tuesday.
Pokhara International Airport, which has been in operation for a long time due to the demand of the Pokhara people and the joint efforts of the government and the private sector, has not had regular international flights for two years since its inauguration. For the first time, 126 passengers are going to Chengdu on a Sichuan Airlines flight.
In an effort to regularize flights, Sichuan Airlines has already ensured that it will operate three chartered flights from Chengdu, informed Jeevan Raj Sapkota, General Secretary of the Pokhara Tourism Council.
"Sichuan Airlines has started chartered flights with the aim of regularizing Pokhara-Chengdu flights," he said. "After three chartered flights, the airline has planned other regular flights."
The airline has currently fixed the fare at Rs 62,000 for chartered flights. The airline has stated that it will introduce a regular schedule with fares after three flights. He expressed confidence that the Pokhara-Chendu flight will be important in the development of tourism here.
The Nepal Tourism Board believes that this flight would take tourism promotion and cultural exchange to a new height through direct regional air connection between Nepal and China.
