The Mukkumlung Tangse:p Chumbho and Mukkumlung Protection Inter-party Struggle Committee has staged a demonstration in front of Singha Durbar in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The group of Mukkumlung protectors and 'No Cable Car' group picketed Singha Durbar as part of pre-scheduled protest programs today.
The agitating groups picketed Singha Durbar shouting slogans, "Stop Encroachment of Mundhum Religious Site," Cancel the Construction of Cable Car Project at the Mukkumlung Religious Site", Implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples."
The Mukkumlung protectors have said that the government has violated the agreement reached between the No Cable Car groups and the state by allowing the construction work to continue.

"The No Cable Car groups and the government on February 4 had inked a 4-point deal, according to which the agitators had to call off the protests and the government in return would halt the construction and release the detained individuals. Even though the government released some of the detainees, it soon resumed the construction work, violating the agreement," Khagendra Makhim, a Save Mukkumlung campaigner said.
Following the violation of the agreement, the No Cable Car groups announced a serious of protest programs. According to the protest programs, on March 12, the No Cable Car groups had called a gathering of intellectuals in Kathmandu to dwell on ways to resolve ongoing issues and plan upcoming protest programs.
Since, then the agitating group has been carrying a series of protest programs including a gathering of senior pro-identity leaders in 14 districts of Koshi Province and the Kathmandu Valley.
The group has announced that it will organizer mass meetings and demonstrations in all the 14 districts of Koshi Province on April 6 and enforce an indefinite strike from April 7 if the government does not stop the cable car construction project righ away, according to the press note issued by the No Cable Car groups.
