The Sirijanga Rural Municipality of Taplejung has unveiled an official logo and promo video for the Sirijanga Tourism Festival 2082, with the aim of promoting tourism. The festival will be held from April 26 to 28 at Naya Jhoreni, located on the Kanchenjunga Adventure Trail.

The official logo and promo video were released during a press conference held at the Office of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (NFJ) in Phungling, the district headquarters of Taplejung. The event was attended by Lal Krishna Chauhan, the chairman of Sirijanga Rural Municipality, Dr. Chitra Mabo, the vice-chairman and coordinator of the Festival Organizing Committee Secretariat, Dambar Bahadur Angdembe, chief administrative officer of the Municipality, and representatives of various political parties. The promo video has been released on the Mundhum Films YouTube channel.

During the press conference, Chairman Chauhan read out a pamphlet prepared to provide information about the festival, expressing confidence that the Sirijunga Tourism Festival 2082 will be a milestone for tourism promotion, awareness of climate change impacts, and economic prosperity. Similarly, Vice-Chairman Dr. Mabo, who is also the coordinator of the Festival Organizing Committee Secretariat, stated that all wards of Sirijanga Rural Municipality have tourism potential if properly promoted, and the Sirijanga Tourism Festival is being organized as a starting point.

The programs include the observation of the Kanchenjunga Adventure Trail from April on April 18-26, study of the impact of climate change on local yaks and their exhibition on April 27-28 while the Kanchenjunga Adventure Half Marathon Contest 2082 will be held on April 28. Similarly and arts, literature, and music programs will be organized later in the evening, the organizer has said.

The Municipality has announced a cash prize of Rs 208,586 for the winner of the half marathon contest, Rs 108,586 for the first runner-up and Rs 58,586 for the 2nd runner-up.

The Kanchenjunga Adventure Half Marathon Contest, which will be held at an altitude of approximately 4,500 meters above sea level, will cover the distance from Naya Jhoreni, Kasture Danda, Jhande Danda, Sindure Dhunga, and Tuplung to Machhewa on the Kanchenjunga Adventure Trail.

The Kanchenjunga Adventure Trail, built by the Sirijunga Rural Municipality in partnership with the federal government, offers trekking opportunities with panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Mt Makalu to Mt Kanchenjunga.
