The foreign aid commitment has increased by Rs 132 billion this fiscal year (FY) compared to last year.
According to the statistics unveiled by the Finance Ministry, the foreign aid commitment increased by Rs 221.45 billion by mid-February of the current fiscal year 2024/25.
The foreign aid commitment was Rs 89.49 billion around this time last year.
Of the total aid commitment, the grant portion is put at 25.5 percent while that of loan is at 74.5 percent, according to the ministry.
Of the aid commitment, the energy sector has received the highest 25.5 percent commitment followed by the environment and climate with 21.6 percent, while the irrigation sector has got 12.9 percent.
Similarly, the water supply has received 11.5 percent foreign aid commitment, disaster management (9.1), transportation (6.1), agriculture (4.3), social sector (4.2), forest (2.5), nutrients (1.6), infrastructure (0.6) and good governance has received the least foreign aid commitment 0.2 percent, the ministry has said.
