19-yr-old woman found buried in Ilam; husband arrested

The body of a young woman, who had gone missing two weeks ago, was found buried in Ilam.

The body of 19-year-old Bimala Kattel from Fakfokthum Rural Municipality–3, Salleri, was discovered 15 days after she went missing.

According to Man Bahadur Rai, the information officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Ilam, Kattel's body was found today at a place called Golai in Fakfokthum Rural Municipality.

He informed that the investigation will proceed once the body is exhumed and the legal procedures becompleted, Rai added. Police have taken the young woman's husband, Umesh Giri, into custody.

Kattel, originally from Deumai Municipality–Jitpur (her maternal home), had been missing since March 14. After her disappearance, her father-in-law, Krishna Lal Giri, had filed a complaint with the police.
