The Nepal Teachers' Federation, an umbrella body of teachers' unions, has launched an indefinite demonstration in Kathmandu from today.
The Federation started hitting the streets in the federal capital demanding the enactment of the long-pending School Education Bill.

The disgruntled teachers, who gathered at Maitighar Mandala, had marched up to Bijuli Bazaar, as part of pressure on the government to fulfill their demands.
They have been demanding that the central government, rather than local governments, should oversee secondary schools and teacher quota allocations. Likewise, the teachers should be granted a promotion ever 10 years on a regular basis.
