Three injured after car driven by inebriated driver hits an electric pole

Three individuals sustained injuries after a car driven by an inebriated driver met with an accident in Lalitpur.

The condition of one among those injured is critical.

The accident took place when a speeding car, heading to Satdobato from Hattiban rammed an electric pole on the sloppy road at Hattiban in Lalitpur on Sunday night, informed SP Chakra Raj Joshi of the District Police Range, Lalitpur.

"Bishal BK of Godawari Municipality-3, Lalitpur sustained critical injuries. He is undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital. Amardhwaj Paudel, 40, and Moser Lamichhane, 29, of Myagdi, currently staying at Godawari Municipality-3 also were also injured. Their condition is out of danger," said Joshi.

Car driver Rupak Sapkota has been arrested by the police. His condition is normal.

Sapkota was driving the car under the influence of alcohol.

The electric pole has broken down, disrupting the traffic movement, said Joshi.
