Three killed, seven injured after being hit by wind-felled trees in Kailali and Nawalparasi

An auto crashed by a fallen tree at Kolhabi-3 in Bara.

Three people died and seven others sustained injuries after being hit by trees felled by windstorms in Nawalparasi West and Kailali.

The deceased are 30-year-old Mira Bayambu and Durga Bahadur Pun of Sunwal Municipality-7 in Nawalparasi West, said Santosh Paudel, the in-charge of Area Police Office, Sunwal.

They were struck to death by a fallen tree while they were taking shelter in the waiting room from the windstorm. The other three people were injured in the incident.

Similarly, a teacher died after being hit by a tree that fell due to a windstorm in Kailali.

The deceased has been identified as former campus chief Karna Bhandari of National College, Sukhad, said the District Police Office, Kailali.

Likewise, Sikendra Chaudhary, a local of Kolhabi-3, Bara sustained injuries after a tree came down crashing down on a moving auto in the district. The windstorm caused a heavy toll in Nawalparasi West, Kailali, Bara, Kanchanpur, Chitwan, Udayapur and Siraha among others last night.
