Jhapa police seize three containers with smuggled goods

The Jhapa police have seized three containers laden with smuggled goods brought into Nepal. The Nepal Police took control of the containers on Sunday night from Birtamod Municipality-5, Jhapa.

The Jhapa District Police Office reported that three containers with Indian number plates—NL 01 AH 5679, NL 01 N 9223, and NL 02 N 7486—entered Nepal via Kakadvitta from India and were brought under control.

The police recovered smuggled goods worth 36.1 million rupees from the containers, according to Jhapa District Police Office's Information Officer, Police Inspector Pravin Shrestha.

Shrestha informed that the seized containers stuffed with smuggled goods have been sent to the Revenue Investigation Office in Itahari for further investigation.
