Three killed, two injured as jeep veers off Madi River bridge in Tanahun

Three people have died after a jeep fell off a bridge over the Madi River connecting wards 3 and 4 of Byas Municipality along the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as around 35-year-old Prabin Thapa Magar, Kumar Thapa, 22, and Kushal Thapa, 22, of Byas Municipality-5, said Police Inspector Raju Adhikari of District Police Office, Tanahun. Other two individuals including jeep driver were injured in the incident, according to Adhikari.

The injured are 25-year-old Rohit Gupta of Byas Municipality-4,  and Dhiraj Rauniyar, 20, of Birgunj, currently staying at Damauli.

Diraj, among those injured, has been taken to Pokhara for further treatment, said the police.
