Nepal Samajbadi Party (NSP) led by Mahindra Raya Yadav has split.
Claiming that Chairman Yadav delayed unification with the CPN (Maoist Center), a majority of members led by Co-chair Ganga Narayan Shrestha have reorganized NSP under their own leadership.
Shrestha claims that out of 29 central executive committee members, 17 are on his side. Similarly, he asserts that 99 out of 160 central committee members are with him.
On this basis, he announced on Sunday that he has been elected as the NSP coordinator.
Shrestha scheduled the date for unification with the Maoist Center during an extended central committee meeting of NSP held at Ekantakuna in Lalitpur on Sunday.
He informed Nepalkhabar that the party unification program will be held at a party palace in Gwarko at 11:30 AM on Monday.
