The National Assembly (NA), the upper house of the Federal Parliament today passed the Ship (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081 BS.
The proposal to pass the bill presented by Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal was unanimously approved in today's meeting of the NA. Prior to that, the meeting unanimously approved the proposal to discuss the Ship (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081 along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.
Lawmakers Suresh Kumar Ale Magar, Rukmini Koirala, Taraman Swanr, Dr Beduram Bhusal and Bishnu Bahadur BK took part in the discussion on the proposal.
Responding to the queries raised during the discussions on the proposal, Minister Dahal expressed confidence that the presented bill would pave the way for operating vessels on internal waterways, allowing Nepal's access to the sea through waterways. The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held at 1:15 pm on June 13.
