Tehrathum Sarokar Samaj has organized a felicitation program in honor of newly promoted Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Chandra Kuber Khapung.

Held at Samudayik Sewa Kendra in Ghattekulo, Kathmandu on Saturday, Sarokar Samaj honored AIG Khapung with dosallas and a framed letter of appreciation.

Speaking on the occasion, AIG Khapung said the society has been mired in negativity and emphasized the need to cultivate a positive mindset for the betterment of the society. "The society has been mired in negativity. It's wrong to say that no development has taken place in the country so far," said Khapung, "The development, of course, has taken place, though not in the same speed as in advanced countries."

He further suggested to develop a positive attitude toward the society and the nation.

"The country is not exactly the same as it was three decades ago. Changes have, of course, taken place, though at a slow place. The generations born after 2060 BS, in particular, are skeptical of the development and leadership of the country. We should remind them and move ahead by breaking this negative discourse that 'nothing has happed," added Khapung.

He further said that the Tehrathum people should move ahead by joining hands for mutual benefits, development and prosperity.

Similarly, Chief Advisor of Sarokar Samaj Mohan Kumar Dangi, also the Senior Vice President of the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN) said that Nepal has already made a lot of political achievements and now this time is for making economic progress.

"We should now teach Nepali people how to make money. This is the time for enriching our country and ourselves. And this is possible through hydropower developments. He congratulated Khapung on being promoted to the post of AIG and wished him greater achievements in the future.

The extended plenum convened by the Samaj was emceed by Yogendra Kurumbang, the general secretary of the Samaj. Likewise, vice-chairpersons Chiranjibi Khatiwada and Keshab Bhttarai had shed light on the family background of Khapung, and congratulated him on his promotion to the post of AIG.

Likewise, extending congratulations, Dilli Ram Dhungel, the chairman of the Samaj, said Khapung is an honest, dedicated and professional police officer. "He is dedicated, qualified and highly professional police officer with a clean image. I would like to congratulate him on his promotion to the post of AIG once again and wish him greater success in the future."
