CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' stated that policy reforms are necessary, along with a change in the overall mindset of the state in order to achieve the goal of economic prosperity in the country.
Prachanda said this during a meeting with the newly elected officials of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) at his residence in Khumaltar, Lalitpur on Monday.
In the meeting, Prachanda, who is also a former Prime Minister, highlighted the significant contribution of the private sector to the country's economic development.
"For the economic development of the country, the state must change its mindset and implement policy reforms to create a conducive environment for the private sector to operate smoothly," Prachanda said. "Without policies and structures that facilitate the private sector, the goal of prosperity cannot be achieved."
He also stressed the need for the state to develop an attitude of facilitation rather than causing difficulties.
The CNI officials recalled the role played by the private sector in Nepal's economic prosperity and the cooperative environment established during Prachanda's tenure as Prime Minister.
