Nepalkhabar Rising Nepal Summit 2025 begins at Soaltee Hotel

The ‘Rising Nepal Summit 2025’, under the theme ‘Unlocking Investment, Enabling Growth, hosted by Nepakhabar, marking its 10th anniversary, has started at the Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu.

The summit’s centerpiece is the much-anticipated Nepalkhabar Conversation, a high-level dialogue on Nepal’s political economy and investment climate, featuring a rare public exchange between former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and former minister Dr Minendra Rijal.

This candid conversation aims to unpack the complexities of Nepal’s political transitions, governance challenges, and their implications on economic policy and investor confidence. Their dialogue is expected to provide unique perspectives across party lines on what it takes to build a credible, stable, and investment-friendly Nepal, apart from setting up an employment and investment agenda ‘Double Investment: Double Employment’ for the election year 2084 BS.

Adding gravitas to the summit, former President Bidya Devi Bhandari will deliver a special address at the beginning. The Rising Nepal Summit 2025 will convene top voices from government, business, and civil society to chart Nepal’s path to economic transformation, and also setting up the economic agenda for election year 2084 BS.

Distinguished speakers include celebrated economist Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Economic Advisor to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and industry doyen Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The summit features two thematic sessions: one on domestic investment and the other on foreign direct investment.

The first session, ‘Domestic Capital: Domestic Growth,’ will explore strategies to double domestic investment and boost job creation by 2084 BS (the election year). Moderated by Nepalkhabar’s Consulting Editor Kuber Chalise, the panel will feature Anjan Shrestha, Senior Vice President, FNCCI Anand Bagaria, Managing Director, Nimbus, Ashlesha Karki, Deputy Managing Director, Hotel Mechi Crown, Rajeshwor Gyawali, Director General, Department of Industry.
