PM Oli holds consultation for stadium at Suryabinayak

Prime Minister KP Oli holding discussions with officials from Suryabinayak Municipality, National Sports Council, and All Nepal Football Association regarding the construction of a stadium in Bhaktapur.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday held discussions with the leadership of Suryabinayak municipality, the National Sports Council (NSC), and the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) regarding a plan to construct a stadium at Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, focused on managing land for the proposed stadium. With the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu becoming increasingly insufficient to meet current demands, the government is considering for alternative locations spacious for the advanced facility, it has been learnt.

On the occasion, Suryabinayak municipality Mayor Basu Dev Thapa informed the Prime Minister that around 200 ropanis of land (one ropani is 508.73 square kilometers) at Jagate could be allocated for the stadium. He also assured forwarding necessary process towards that end.

The Prime Minister said the government's intent to construct a stadium with a minimum capacity of accommodating 50,000 audiences simultaneously.

NSC Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising and ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang were also present at the meeting.
