The Armed Police Force (APF) has seized electronic cigarettes (vape) worth over Rs 4.8 million at Bardiya while being smuggled to India.

Acting on a tip-off, an AFP team deployed from the Border Out Post (BOP), Shaktikhor, recovered the vape from Mdhuwan Municipality-5, Phularam Chowk at around 1 Am today.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, deputy spokesperson of the AFP, 1,920 vape products packed in eight cartoons were being transported to India on two cycles.

No sooner had the smugglers spotted the police than they fled the scene.

The police said they are making preparations to submit the seized goods to the concerned office, deputy spokesperson Thapa said.
