Two people, including a minor girl, have died at Churkholi in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-8 in Achham district.
Police Inspector Tek Bahadur Bohora of the District Police Office, Achham, informed that the landslide occurred where three people were sleeping under a tarpaulin, not far from their house.
"Nima Khanal, 35, and seven-year-old girl Kabita Bhandari have died after being buried in the landslide. We have received information that the girl’s mother, 36-year-old Ratna Bhandari, has been injured," Inspector Bohora told Nepalkhabar, "We are now heading toward the incident site. It will take about two hours to reach there."
However, the relationship between Nima and Ratna has not been revealed. "We have received information that both women were buried by a landslide that fell from a cliff while they were sleeping in an open area far from their homes under a tarpaulin because they were menstruating," said Inspector Deuba. "They died after being hit by a rock that fell with them."
He said that the girl, Kabita, was also sleeping with her mother Ratna.
The police said that Ratna's condition is critical due to a head injury. She is being treated at the local health post. Inspector Deuba said that the details of the incident will be known only after reaching there.
