Two hundred and twenty-four individuals have obtained permission to climb Mt. Manaslu this autumn (September, October, and November).
According to data received from the Department of Tourism, 224 people from 17 teams of various countries have obtained permission to climb Mt. Manaslu, which is 8,163 meters high. This data is as of Friday.
According to the Department, 169 men and 55 women have obtained permission to climb Mt. Manaslu. Revenue of 94,322,860 has been collected from them.
The highest number of climbers are climbing Mt Manaslu this season. As of Friday, only one person has obtained permission to climb Mt. Everest. Only two people have obtained permission to climb Lhotse.
Other climbers have obtained permission to climb mountains lower than 8,000 meters. According to the data, 11 people have obtained permission to climb Nuptse, which is 7,855 meters high. Fifteen people have obtained permission to the other peaks.
Last year in the same season, 401 people had obtained permission to climb Mt. Manaslu. Local Bir Bahadur Lama of Samagaun, Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1, informed that rope fixing work is currently underway on Mt. Manaslu.
Furthermore, climbers have started arriving in Samagaun. The number of climbers coming here via Lamjung, Manang, and over the Larkya Pass is usually very high. Some also come by helicopter.
