Gen Z Protest: Death toll reaches eight

The death toll of the protestors who sustained injuries during the Gen Z demonstration at Baneshwar has reached eight.

Five injured breathed their last while undergoing treatment at National Trauma Center and two others passed away in the course of treatment at Civil Service Hospital. Similarly, one more died at KMC Hospital.

Over 100 protestors have been injured during the clash with police. They are undergoing treatment at Civil Service Hospital, National Trauma Center, Everest Hospital, Patan Hospital and KMC Hospital.

Earlier, demonstrators entered the premises and set fire to the main gate of the Federal Parliament Building. The situation took a nasty turn around Baneshwar area after a protestor died from the bullet fired by the security personnel.  

Despite the curfew clamped by the police, the demonstration is still going on.  With the situation getting tense, the police opened fire, teargas shells, rubber bullets, and water cannons on the demonstrators.
