Agriculture Minister Ram Nath Adhikari has resigned from his post.
His aide Bijay Adhikari confirmed that Minister Adhikari resigned from his post a few moments ago.
"There is a curfew. I have not been able to go out," he told Nepalkhabar, "He has informed the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the party president Sher Bahadur Deuba."
Adhikari, a minister close to him, resigned after leader Shekhar Koirala instructed him to resign from China.
After 19 youths were killed during the government’s crackdown on the Gen Z movement on Monday, NC leader Koirala, who is in China, instructed his group’s ministers to resign.
Other ministers in the government from the Shekhar group include Badri Pandey, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Tejulal Chaudhary, Minister of Youth and Sports.
Ramesh Lekhak, who became Home Minister from the NC, resigned from his post on Monday evening on the same day of the incident.
In fact, leaders of the ruling party are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. But Oli has not shown any interest in it, so far.
Meanwhile, Gen Z has continued his movement. Even today, youth have started protesting in Baneshwar since morning, where 17 youths, including students, were killed by police firing on Monday.
The police have confirmed that two people were killed in Itahari, Sunsari.
