Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been shut down.
No international flights have arrived since 12 noon, while some international airlines are preparing to fly from the airport.
According to TIA sources, flights have been suspended at the airport in view of the changing situation in the country.
Indigo and Qatar Airways are preparing to fly, while Himalaya Airlines and Air China have already taken off. Malaysia Airlines has completed boarding in a hurry, while China Southern has just taken off for Guangzhou. Nepal Airlines' flight, which was preparing to fly to Delhi, has been delayed, while Thai Airways has taken off for Bangkok.
Similarly, security checks are ongoing for Himalaya Airlines, which is preparing to fly to Dhaka. Security checks are also being conducted for Indigo and Air India. While security checks are also being conducted for Thai Lion, check-in for Indigo, Biman Bangladesh, Thai AirAsia and Fly Dubai, which are preparing to fly to Mumbai, has begun.
