Rameshwar, Kulman and Om Prakash picked as ministers, to take oath on Monday

Prime Minister Sushila Karki formed a four-member small cabinet on Sunday evening.

According to the Prime Minister's cabinet, former secretary Rameshwar Khanal, former managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising and advocate and human rights activist Om Prakash Aryal have been picked as ministers.

Khanal will handle the Ministry of Finance, while Ghising will look after three ministries.

According to a source at the Office of the Prime Minister, Ghising has received ministries such as Energy, Irrigation and Water Resources, Physical Infrastructure and Construction, and Urban Development.

Similarly, Aryal has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat.

Preparations are underway to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers on Monday.  

Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki was appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government of Nepal on Friday following the Gen Z uprising that toppled the Oli-led government.

On the recommendation of new Prime Minister Karki, President Ramchandra Paudel has dissolved the Federal Parliament and set March 5, 2026 for holding the general elections.
