Four Nepalis, including three from the same family, have died in a car accident in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, India.
CPN (Maoist Center) leader Ramesh Malla informed that they had reached Himachal Pradesh from Kumakh Rural Municipality-4 in Salyan for employment and died in the car accident that occurred on Monday.
Dilli Bahadur Shahi, 50, Ekendra Shahi, 36, Laxmi Malla Shahi, 26, and Rajesh Bista, 33, residents of Kumakh-4 in Salyan, died in the car accident in Kuddu near Kotkhai in Himachal Pradesh.
Nawaraj Shahi and Him Bahadur Shahi were injured in the accident. Laxmi, who died in the accident, is the wife of Nawaraj. Nawaraj and Him Bahadur saved their lives by jumping off the car.
Laxmi, who died, is the daughter-in-law of Dilli Bahadur's younger brother, while Ekendra is the son of Dilli Bahadur's elder brother.
The injured are being treated at a local government hospital. The District Police Office, Salyan, however, has stated that they have not received any information regarding this so far.
The driver of the vehicle, Indian citizen Joginder Singh, also died in the accident. Preparations are underway to bring the bodies of all the deceased to Nepal after postmortem. Malla said that the Indian side has informed that the deceased will be provided with a relief of Rs 425,000 including funeral expenses.
